Renting a car in Seville.

We want to rent a car in Seville for a day to drive to Ronda, White Villages and maybe a stop at the winery. Has anyone had experience with renting a car for just a day? What companies did you use? I found several rental companies by the train station with what looks like pretty decent rates. But they want to put $1100 to $1400 security deposit on my CC card. I am not very comfortable doing that. Any ideas? Also since we are on the car rental topic. Do you suggest to purchase extra coverage that they are offering?

Thank you in advance

I’ve never rented for just a day and always go with a major rental company like Enterprise or Avis. The hold on my card has never been more than 250€ so what you mention is excessive.

Whether you decide to get extra coverage is a personal preference. For one day’s piece of mind it is something to consider. You may also be offered coverages for damage to tires and windshield.

That's exctly what I thought. I was looking at Enterprise and Alamo. I tried Costco but they only rent from the airport. I might have to go that route.

My last couple trips to Spain I’ve rented through Costco and the rental company was Enterprise. Renting through Costco a second driver is free. We picked up and dropped off at Madrid’s airport.

Ensure any driver has an IDP as it is required in Spain (nobody has ever asked to see it). Get an IDP at AAA for $20 and a couple passport photos.
