Renting a car in Granada

Six of us are traveling by train from Madrid to Granada and staying several nights and will rent a van to visit costal and white hill towns, and eventually return the rental in Seville. We are picking up the van at Granada airport which is about 25-30 mins outside of Granada.

If two from our party take a taxi to the car rental at Granada airport, is there a recommended place to come back and pick-up the others? For example, is there a place not too far from the Plaza Nueva area to pick-up people? Would the train station be a good option?

Or, is that not a good plan and all six of us should taxi to the Granada airport?

We took a city bus out to the edge of town and another bus to the airport (8 mi.)

You can take a taxi, but it'll be fairly expensive--pushing 30 Euros.

If only two people go to the the airport, can they pick the others at wherever it is you’re staying. The problem as I see it is there few if any places, other than taxi and bus lanes, in the downtown area where a vehicle can pull over so others can get in and load luggage.

Also, the airport is in the direction and road you need to travel to get to Sevilla, so it wouldn’t make sense to go out to the airport, just to go back into the city to pick people up, then turn around to head past the airport. It’s my opinion that everybody should go to the airport and head to Sevilla from it.
