We are traveling to Barcelona in late September. We'll spend four days in the city at Hotel Constanza in the Eixample. The second part of our trip, we plan to rent a car and travel to Provence for nine days, returning to Barcelona at the end to fly home.
Are there any issues with picking up a car in Spain and driving it to France? Can you recommend an alternate location to pick up a car other than the airport....perhaps closer to our hotel or on the eastern fringe of the city? Thanks for sharing your expertise!
I've never rented a car in Barcelona go cannot respond to that part of your question. I've never had an issue crossing borders between Spain and France, or between any other countries in western Europe. It hasn't been an issue since the EU was formed. Most of the time the border crossings are not manned and you just drive by. If you go to Switzerland, its border crossings are manned and you just stop and answer a couple questions.
