Renfe Turista Promo ticket questions

Hi!

I am needing to purchase train tickets from Madrid to San Sebastián for August. It appears that they are available on the Renfe website but not on other sites like Rail Europe. Is this correct? I am reading on here that tickets would normally be out 60-90 days so it sounds too good to be true. If I am able to purchase four Turista Promo tickets for our family, I know seats are assigned but is that done as soon as I purchase? Does anyone know if we will be seated together please? There is not a Mesa fare available for this route. Thank you!

Book 4 tickets at the same time and the seats will all be assigned together. The sooner the better. Rail Europe is a middle man reseller of tickets so those are going to be more expensive and the selection less comprehensive than if you buy directly with renfe when tickets are usually available online 90 days in advance.

Yes, you will be seated all together. All tickets for long distance journeys come with a free seat reservation. That way you can go straight to your seats. The priority of Renfe website is to allocate you in a table if you are 4 and they are not sold out.
Buy only at Renfe.com , it is the official provider, and you can make claims to them, as well that you have 2 hours since you bought your tickets to cancel them if you were wrong totally free of charge . Use the PayPal option, it is less hassle.
