I am trying to purchase train tickets from Granada to Seville on Sept. 16th and it says unavailable. It is with in the 62 days. Is it 30 days because it is a poplular route?
I just did a test run and saw 3 trains available on the Renfe website. I purchased Renfe tickets for the same date last week, different route.
Are you using your phone cause I find using a desktop is always better.
Renfe may not yet have its own train tickets for sale online but www.TheTrainline.com does. And from the looks of it, if you wait for Renfe to put them up for sale— they may be sold out by the time it does. There are only 5 tickets remaining for the 6:56 am train arriving at Seville at 9:52am on September 16. Trainline also has IRYO train tix for sale.
You can take Renfe train from Granada to the Sevilla San Bernardo station--tickets are available, but you change trains. It may be faster to take an Alsa bus (alsa.com). Direct buses take you from Granada to Seville Plaza de Armas bus station--fastest ones get there in 3 hours, no bus changes, just stops in different cities.
Looking at the Trainline website, some of the renfe trains that day are sold out. There are a few stations in Sevilla, so if you aren't picky you could take a look at the various stations to see availability.
We took a few different bus lines in May because we visited cities with either no train stations, or sparsely scheduled trains. Buses were comfortable, but no bathrooms aboard. Some of the buses waited at certain stations to allow passengers to use the bathrooms at the stations--I imagine that the station bathrooms are cleaner than those aboard buses.
Book on https://www.thetrainline.com/en-us Renfe is glitchy and if you ever finally get it to work, tickets may be sold out. We used trainline and had no issues.
It has been more than 5 years, but I did the bus Grenada to Sevilla as at the time, the train lines were still under reconstruction, with many delays.
The bus was comfortable, but it was 30 minutes longer than posted 3 hours, as it stopped for a 30 minute toilet and snack break.
I find Renfe website can be finicky if you don't get the station names perfectly correct.
I tried on the website and all the trains say that it is not available at this time.
I like trains better, but I will add that I also have taken the bus twice on this route (although Seville to Granada) because the times were more convenient and frequent. So that might be an option.
We took the Alsa bus. Very easy.
