First trip to Spain using Renfe trains. I am looking at booking a few trips on Renfe trains in AVE Elige Confort class for March 2025. I've noticed the Renfe App lets me book any Confort carriage including the first/last carriage. But when using the Renfe online webpage it shows no availability in the first/last carriage unless I book Premium!!! Is this a glitch, or is the Premium carriage, normally the first/last on the train, solely for Premium??
Renfe website has no working online customer contact to clarify!!

Yes, the image shown of the train when chosing a seat shows these confort carraiges at the front or back of the train depending on direction of travel.

Thanks for the link, Nick. I had forgot to read it before buying.
I booked round-trip Comfort (1st class) tickets and chose seats using, my computer recently. I chose seats even for the steeply-discounted return tickets that were purchased.
