Recommendations for Montserrat tickets

Hello,
our group of 8 would like to make a day trip from Barcelona:

  • Take the train in the morning to Montserrat from the pl Espanya station (round trip)
  • Take the Rack Rail Cremallera train to the Monastary (round trip)
  • Visit the Basillica and see the Black Madonna of Montserrat
  • Take the Funicular - de Sant Joan take to the mountain top (round trip)
  • Visit the Art Museum

How do you recommend we purchase the tickets ? From where ? On Line, or in - person ? We would like to avoid waiting in a line at the train station in the morning. Thanks !

Buy them from this website https://tickets.montserratvisita.com/en/552-from-barcelona. I sounds like the "All Montserrat" is the right ticket for you. You can find it under "from Barcelona". Print off your voucher and also download the website's app on your phone. Get to pl Espanya a little early to trade in your voucher for your train tickets. The ticket the sales clerk at the station will give you will get you into the Rack Rail too. Be sure to print off the ticket for the Basillica and Black Madonna. You need to have a time entrance for those sites.

We just did the trip out to Montserrat in May and that is how we got our tickets. It worked out great.
