We are a family of five (2 Adults, one 13-year old, two 10-year olds), and will arrive in Barcelona on June 29th. We intend to stay for between 4 and 5 weeks, really soaking things up. My wife was raised in Central America, and I lived in Holland as a child, so we'd like our kids to have an immersive experience. But I'd like some guidance:
Is it true that tourists cannot stay longer than 31 days in any one place?
I've found numerous rental websites, but they seem to cater to either short-term "holiday" rentals or longer-term (3+ month) rentals. Does anyone have recommendations for ~1 month rentals? If it helps, we'll want at least 3 bedrooms, furnished, and we're not interested in hotels/hostels/B&Bs or shared kitchens/bathrooms.
I'd also appreciate location recommendations. I'd love to stay in Barceloneta, but I suspect that isn't a good choices for kids that time of year, plus I don't want to be on constant pickpocket alert. Nor do I want to be too far away, since we won't have a car. I'm thinking either L'eixample or Poble Nou (my kids LOVE the beach). Other safe, kid-friendly recommendations near public transport?
