Recent experiences with taxi from Madrid airport to Toledo?

Has anyone recently taken a taxi from Madrid airport to Toledo? We (family of 4) will be arriving at 5:20 pm after a flight from the west coast. We’re thinking of staying in Toledo the first night, if a taxi is easily available. Rick recommends this, and I’m willing to spend 110€ or so to make this transfer easy.

I know we could taxi to the train station in Madrid (35€), then take the train (50€) then another taxi (10 €?) to the hotel. But that price is not far off from 110€.

I’m just not sure if:

1). That price applies after 6:30 pm (guessing it will take an hour to pick up a checked bag). Private shuttles are quoting over 220€.

2). How easy is it to get a taxi to take us that distance?

Anybody done this recently?

Have you factored in the time at the Madrid Airport to stand in line to go through passport control (this is re your time estimate "to pick up a checked bag")?

We used Suntransfers to do this (suntransfers.com). I reserved the transfer ahead of time via their website. The driver met us at the airport (no problem that our plane was very late; they monitor flight status) and transported us to Toledo. Super easy, which was desperately needed in our jet lagged condition.

It cost more than 110 euro, but we had 5 people and therefore needed a van (which is the reason why we didn’t go the taxi route; we wouldn’t have fit in one car). You could check their website for costs for 4 people. I suspect it will still be more than 110 euro, but maybe not horribly more???
