Real Alcazar de Sevilla - Day or Night? Both?

I was looking at booking tickets and noticed they had a night option - anyone able to offer any insights here? I'll be in Sevilla for three days if it matters. It looks like there is a lot to see and do there, and I'm not sure how to prioritize my time.

Cheers,

Moe

Just me, but with your limited time I’d stick to a day visit. At night, I prefer visiting the Plaza de España. I’m sure others will have opposing opinions. Maybe look at photos of the Alcázar at night to see if it would be worth returning to, to visit, for you.

I went to the Real Alcazar de Sevilla during the day. I was able to pick the first time slot a after they opened. At night, the carvings or impressions in the plaster and the tiles, on the walls, that you would see in the courtyards won't be as visible. I don't remember how much the place has been retrofitted with electric lighting and what the place would look like after dark. At night in the courtyards you would probably see some spots illuminated, surrounded by patches of darkness and obscurity. You are better off going during daylight hours.

The Alcazar was just wonderful. I was happy going there during the day and felt no need for a night visit. Further, I like to take photos and I'd worry about the lighting at night, especially the outdoors.

You might check out Mai Tai Tom's blog of his 2015 trip to Spain. He did both tours. His blog has wonderful pictures and is very humorous.

Ha, at first I just thought the search engine was garbage, so I started going through trip reports from 2015 before realizing that you had mentioned that it was a blog!

Very entertaining so far, I'll try to post a link to make it easy for anyone else who might check in. Thanks, everyone!

I should mention that unless I've missed something, they don't visit the Alcazar at night...

I've read Maitaitom's report on another travel forum, and I think they visit the Alhambra in Granada at night, in addition to the daytime. We did both for the Alhambra. For the Real Alcazar in Seville, we visited it during the day. I didn't know they had night time tours. Definitely visit the Alcazar during the day. It is spectacular, and I would rank it very close to the Alhambra.

Yep, they did visit the Alhambra both day and night.

Thanks again everyone, I'll plan on visiting during the day for sure. I think I might visit at night as well - it sounds like not many have checked that out, so if nothing else, I'll find out if it's worthwhile!

Do day and see if there is an event there at night. If available prebook the private quarters tour. Def worthwhile and limited availability.
