Quiet room in Granada

I am a very light sleeper and will be staying in Granada for two nights in September on a Thursday and Friday. Most of the hotels I have found have reviews complaining of noise from the streets. Does anyone know of a nice central hotel with interior rooms that are especially quiet? Thanks in advance!!

While it is not "central" in town, it is right within the Alhambra grounds............we found the Parador especially quiet. We had a room with a little French balcony overlooking the Generalife. Easy walk downhill to a shuttle to take you into town....easy peasy.

If you are over 55 (or maybe it is 50), be sure to ask about their senior special. If they do not have it posted as a special for when you travel, they will honor it if it subsequently is posted for your dates.

If we were return, we would absolutely stay there again!! HUGE breakfast included. Location was great for little breaks while touring the Alhambra and the Generalife.

Hotel Posada del Toro would work, but perhaps only if you book/specify an interior room on the internal balconies around the central courtyard. I suspect if you book a street side room it might be noisy given its location.

It's a very good hotel, by the way. We always stay there now.

We stayed at Roommate Leo Hotel and slept very well. I just checked on TripAdvisor and was surprised to see reviews stating noisy rooms, but those were rooms that faced out front. (Our very quiet room faced the back and had a huge balcony.)

I would recommend sending a nice message to each of your hotel locations, requesting rooms that are interior/quieter, so you have an enjoyable trip. Otherwise, they may feel that you would rather have the front rooms with street or plaza views.

Spain's extremely late dinner hour means there are lots of people on the street returning from dinner between midnight and 1 AM. As a solo budget traveler, I am often given rooms opening onto airshafts (I'm in one right now). That protects against street noise but not against fellow guests in the same hotel who may be conversing in the hall quite late. Very upscale hotels are likely to have better soundproofing around the doors to the rooms, and that will help to some degree.

If you tell your hotel that a quiet room is your top priority, it will do the best it can for you, but pack earplugs. If you haven't used them before, try them out at home. There are several different kinds.

Ica,

A few years ago we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Anacapri. Our room faced the small quiet street, however, there was some construction going on across the street and the construction work started early in the morning. The following morning we asked the hotel staff if we could change to a room not facing the street and fortunately there was a room available for us. This new room did not face the street. We slept soundly for the next couple of nights.

So make sure to request a quiet room not facing the street.

Make sure you book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance.

Enjoy your trip!
