My husband and I are spending a week in Portugal before driving to Spain for two weeks. I am trying to find out if there are any special forms other than passport and vaccination cards that we need to enter Spain. I see on their embassy and health department sites they mention you need a qr code if you are entering from a non-eu country via air or sea. It says nothing about entering via car. I know Portugal is in the EU but does that apply to us as tourists? I have called everywhere I know to call and I either get a message to say check the website or email the embassy. I emailed the embassy and they responded to check the website. Any help is greatly appreciated.
My guess is ---- you will just drive across the border. Border checks are long gone. I trust you have checked the fee for dropping a car in Spain since I assume that is your plan.
No restrictions. You’ll just drive across the border like you’d cross into another state or province (if you’re Canadian).
Thanks to each of you for your response. We have a car service taking us from Evora to Seville so I won’t be dropping off a rental car in Spain.
Hi. I have had a similar experience in trying to confirm information with the Spanish government about entering by land as well. See my post on it that I did tonight under the subject/header “Entering Spain by Land from Portugal.” It’s a bit puzzling how hard it is to get a direct and clear answer/response to such an easy question.
We are US citizens flying into Lisbon. We’ll fly to Seville the next day on Ryanair. Does the same rule apply!
