Steve often recommends going to a site late to avoid big crowds. There are tickets available for the Alhambra General Tour on 1700 the day I'm thinking about going. We plan to tour the site on our own. Is that too late to do justice to seeing the most important areas? I know there's alot to see...

What time does the Alhambra close on the day of your visit? And when is that--when is sunset?
5 PM sounds very late to me. I suspect the museum in the Charles V Palace will close before you'd have a chance to see it.

Note that the timed ticket is only for access to one part. The rest can be done at any time in the same day.
5 is probably quite late to start the whole complex, but could be fine if you’re only seeing the palace. (Good call above to check the sunset time.)

Good point, Scudder. You just need to be careful to allow plenty of time to get over to the Nasrid Palaces. The Alhambra complex is quite large.
