Problem with Real Alcazar website accepting payment

I can't seem to get the Real Alcazar website to accept my credit card payment. I googled and see about a year ago people mentioned this problem on the Trip Advisor board. Anybody hear found a way around this? I called my credit card company and the problem isn't on my end. Thanks for any advice.

Many places in Europe require "3-D" verification for on-line payments. You have to register your card with Visa Checkout or Master Pass. Then you have a 2 stage process where after you enter your credit card, they come back to you to enter your 4-digit PIN, that is part of Visa Checkout and Master Pass.

Another work around is to use an American Express Card.

Have you tried a Mastercard? They seem to work better with some of the Spanish websites. We were successful getting tickets for the Alhambra with a Mastercard. Also, does the Real Alcazar have a "chat" option? When I had problems ordering Alhambra tickets, I found chat to be very helpful. You are wise to get advance tickets. We didn't because we thought November would be off season. We ended up waiting more than an hour.

Did you alert your credit card company you would be making a foreign transaction ?

Thanks for the ideas. I'm still stuck. The website won't take Am Ex and we don't have MasterCard. We have a VISA that is registered with Verify by Visa, but it says we have to call the VISA people, which we did and they authorized it, but then the website choked. I've looked into Ticketbar but it seems like that won't give us the tickets that includes the apartments. Ugh.

I had a problem with purchasing advance train tickets a few years back. I called my VISA card and after some trouble shooting, they took over the issue, purchased the tickets (after a lot of work on their end) and emailed me everything from the transaction. It was extraordinary service, perhaps call the VISA bank and see if they will make the transaction. Another thought. I used to be a "one credit card person". I had a problem once with fraud and was without a card for a few day traveling. Never again. I now have AMEX, VISA and mastercard.
