Does anyone have a recommendation for a private car service from Barcelona Airport to our hotel in Eixample district? I'm looking for one in the €40-60 price range. I was going to book with Welcome Pickups, but am hesitant due to the many negative reviews about drivers simply cancelling the ride and not showing up because of delayed flights, even though they had been contacted about the delay. We have had too many delayed international flights in the past to trust that we will be on time. Perhaps we should just take a taxi?

Just take a taxi. Simple and less than 30 euro. I did this a few weeks ago.

For what it's worth, I've used Welcome Pickups a number of times in Spain and have always been happy.

One reason there are so few private transfer companies in Barcelona is that they're superfluous and can't really compete with other options. You can take the metro, train, bus, or taxi to the airport. They are all excellent choices: easy, cheap, reliable and safe.
