Private Barcelona city tour for solo traveler?

Hello, I will be traveling to Barcelona soon and I am considering a private tour of The neighborhood where I will be staying, in order to become more familiar with my surroundings. Is that something that is needed, or is Barcelona fairly easy to navigate? I will be staying near the Plaça de Catalunya and I want to blend in as best as I can. However I don't want to spend money unnecessarily.

Thank you for the advice!

Another solo traveler, female. Barcelona is very easy to navigate. I was there for 6 days (spring 2024) and did everything without a guide. No concerns about walking the streets (obviously city smarts at night). I even walked around with iPhone Maps in hand and occasionally a photocopied walking map guide. I walked all over - your area, Eixample, La Rambla, Montjuïc, on and on.

You can "study" the layouts via Google Maps with street view in advance. I don't remember doing that for Barcelona, but I have for some of my trips to see my walking routes prior to being "on the ground".

Not sure what you mean by "blend in". Do you speak Catalan? I think you may have been influenced by some hyped anti-tourism "news"???

Thank you for the great advice, everyone. To my point about blending in, I don't speak Catalan (I do speak Spanish moderately well.) I meant not standing out as a tourist / easy(ier) target for pickpockets. I feel more confident now, thanks to the great suggestions and feedback here.
