Has anyone used the "Tourist Active" private shuttle service to get from the Barcelona Airport to the city. It is only 40 Euros. We used a similar service in Paris and Rome with great success.

What for?
1.) For 30€ a taxi can take you to the city centre. There are +1200 taxis at all times at the airport. You catch them right outside the terminals, no long walks
2.) For 6€ pp. you can take the Aerobus, a direct bus to the city centre with few stops. Also, stop in front of the terminal. One every 5' and the journey is roughly 35'
3.) If your hotel is in the Sants area or near Passeig de Gràcia or near El Born, train is also available from terminal 2. Cost as low as 0.95€ pp. with the T-10 travelcard
4.) If your hotel is in the area of Pedralbes, the metro L9 from the airport -both terminals- is also available. Same cost than 3.
5.) If your hotel is in the area of Plaça Espanya, besides the Aerobus above mentioned, you can also take regular bus #46 which only costs 2.15€ single ticket or 0.95€ with the T-10 travelcard.
6.) Private transportation cannot park near the exit of the terminals so in the worst case you'll have to walk to the nearest private parking area -far from the exit.
As you can see there are so many alternatives that this is the reason why 99% of hotels don't have "shuttles". Also note that public transportation in this city is totally safe, efficient, clean, reliable and convenient.
