Any opinions on Clos L'Obac or Clos Mogrado? I only have time to visit one and can't decide which one. I prefer less touristy options. Also interested in any other wineries you might recommend in Priorat.
As a Sommelier, I recomend strongly visit Clos Mogador, One of the most importants wineries in Priorat route. Aditionally, I must to recomend a friend of me, In small town call Porrera, the winery name is Clos Dominic (you can find information on Google).
I'll be there in September, I'd like to hear the news about the region
Regards from Tijuana...
Any of the two you choose won't be touristy. El Priorat county is rather far from Barcelona so the area is quite 'rural' and unspoiled -so to speak. Vall LLach is another cellar one might consider visiting, it's owned by Lluis Llach, a famous Catalan folk singer, songwriter, musician, and activist (much like your Joan Baez) and these past years has produced very high quality wines (location)
For info: map of comarques (Catalan for 'counties') in Catalonia
Also, to anyone visiting El Priorat, I'd strongly advice to take the opportunity to add these two things to your itinerary: Miravet located south in the neighbouring county of Ribera d'Ebre (town web and county map), and the Parc Natural de la Serra de Montsant located in the northern part of Priorat county (county web and county map).
Thanks so much for the feedback! We are finalizing details this weekend and look forward to our trip to Barcelona in November!
