Prado Museum and Food

Hi,

My 9 yr old daughter is celiac and cannot eat gluten and needs to be careful about cross contamination. I would like to bring some food with us when we go to the Prado Museum. Does anyone know- because of her special medically required diet, can we bring food into the museum (likely she can’t eat any of the food in the museum cafe)? Thank you.

I'm not sure about food but you certainly can't bring water into the Prado. I almost passed out there because it was so hot and crowded and there was no water available.

We were just there last month and there is a nice restaurant there, but I have no idea if gluten free is available.
You can buy water there or other drinks.

You probably can't bring in food.

According to the website, any food or beverage must be kept inside of bags or backpacks, and bags and backpacks must be checked/deposited in storage. The fifth bullet under item 30 in the link (in Spanish) addresses food and beverage. Remember to collect your bag when you leave. Checking your backpack/bag is free.
