I would like to travel to Poblet Monastery from Barcelona, and I see that by mass transit it is pretty time consuming. I do not want to rent a car. Has anyone used a day tour company that accepts singles? What I am seeing online are companies that will accommodate groups but not singles. Thanks.
I haven't verified this in the Renfe website, but Rome2Rio thinks there is rail service to the town of Espluga, which is apparently less than 3 miles from the monastery. Rome2Rio isn't very reliable on details, so check that rail schedule carefully to be sure there's an outbound train that's early enough but not at an absurdly early time as well as a well-timed. Also investigate Espluga to be sure it's large enough that there will be a taxi available.
If Rome2Rio is correct that it will take about 2 hr. 15 min. to get to Espluga (which it may well not be), that doesn't sound awful. It's probably not so much longer than a tour bus would require. The road appears to be the windy sort.
