Please help plan our trip!

We are a family of four (two parents, two kids ages 18 & 22), traveling to Sevilla, Granada and Madrid in June. We have time in each location as follows:
Sevilla: 6/21 - 24
Granada: 6/24-27 (we have the Alhambra booked for 6/26)
Madrid: 6/27 - 7/2

We will not be renting a car and will rely on trains to get between cities and for day trips and otherwise walking and taxis/buses or whatever is the most appropriate mode of transportation. We have Airbnbs booked in each location, all well located in city centers or the equivalent.

I am overwhelmed with the number of "must-sees" in each place and need help planning! My family is divided on how we approach vacations. Two of us like to be scheduled and busy and seeing everything there is to see, two of us like to do a little sightseeing and a little relaxing. So I need a plan to meet in the middle, ideally with one "big" thing to do in each place per day with chill time carved out as well.

We would be interested in including day trips to Cordoba, Toledo & possibly Segovia into our plan. Two of us would also really like to do Caminito del Rey, which I understand would likely be best done from Sevilla? The other two of us would love to do some sort of "spa" experience during that time.

Please help me!

Thanks!

One person’s must see is another’s skip it. For example, There’s no reason to visit a cathedral or art museum if you have no interest in them.

That being said, there are popular tourist attractions in each of the cities. If I’m going to a place for the first time I’ll use the “things to do” section of TripAdvisor to get an idea of the options as well as photos. My guess is not everybody will be interested in all the same places, so discuss who wants to see what in each city and whether the group is willing to split up part of the time. Guide books are very useful.

I always have a rental car so cannot opine on the logistics of getting to Caminito del Rey other than it’s a 2 hours drive from Sevilla.

It sounds to me as if you need a guidebook to assist you in prioritizing the options in each city. That's a personal decision. Rick has his top sightseeing suggestions for several of your destinations on this very website. For each link you'll need to click on "At a Glance".

Seville sightseeing

Granada sightseeing

Madrid sightseeing

Toledo sightseeing

Are you landing in Europe on June 21 and flying home on July 2? If so, you have only ten full days in Spain. That's not a lot of time, and I don't see how you can have a good visit to three major destinations plus day trips to two additional important places and to the Caminito del Rey. You are at risk of spending way too large a part of your time going back and forth to train and bus stations and sitting on trains and buses. If June 21 is your arrival day, you have only two full days in Seville to begin with. That really doesn't fit with the idea of taking a day trip to Cordoba and--for some of you--also take the side trip to the Caminito del Rey.

I like Cordoba a lot and recommend that visitors spend at least one night there, but I don't think there's time for that. In this case, I believe your best option for seeing Cordoba is getting an early start the day you travel from Granada to Madrid and stopping over in Cordoba for as long as you can. There's luggage storage at the bus station near the Cordoba train station, but all the lockers could be filled by the time you arrive, so you should do a bit of Googling to find a luggage-storage place near the train station that you can book ahead of time.

We are arriving in Sevilla 6/18. We will be there for a wedding and doing wedding/family stuff through 6/20. 6/21 is when we begin the remainder of our vacation. I appreciate your insight though and will take a closer look at some travel guidebooks!

I suggest cutting a day from Granada, say don't arrive until 6/25. Add a day in Seville or take in Cordoba on the way to Madrid.

DO take day trips to Toledo (especially this amazing city) and Segovia.
