Planning travel around Seville wedding

We will be in Seville for a wedding in June. We plan to fly into Madrid (from NY) and then take the train to Seville. Following the wedding, we have approximately 11 days to sightsee and travel within Spain. Our thought is to spend 2-3 more days in Seville post-wedding, then 3-4 days in Madrid and 3-4 days in Barcelona (traveling by train between each). We cannot sightsee before the wedding so the trip has to start with the aforementioned timing, and I'm not sure it's worth it to backtrack to Madrid? Would it make more sense to just do Seville, maybe Granada and/or Cordoba and then Barcelona and fly home from there? Or go to Madrid and skip Barcelona?

I would skip Barcelona this time around and do Sevilla/Granada/Madrid. But if you decide to do Barcelona, it makes sense to fly out from Barcelona and not backtrack. But Sevilla/Granada/Madrid makes a lovely trip. We did it last year for a similar amount of time, and it was perfect.

Although Seville, Cordoba and Granada make a very good combination, and you have time to add Madrid as well, Seville and Cordoba can be terribly hot in June, so be sure you're up for that.

Seville weather--June 2024

It's important to look at more than a single year's weather data, of course. I like to check the most recent five years. It's very easy to do that on the website I've linked. Just use the pull-down box at the right, just above the graph, to change the month and year displayed. Use the Search box at the upper right to check on other cities.

I, myself, wouldn't want to spend June in southern Spain. I know you have to be in Seville for the wedding, but I'd be very tempted to head to the north coast, between the Basque Country and Galicia. That area is often quite cool even in mid-summer, when much of the rest of Spain can be miserable. There are flights between Seville and Bilbao; you can check schedules on skyscanner.com.

Barcelona is likely to be a lot cooler than Seville in June, but it can be humid. I'd rather take my chances with Barcelona than Seville, though.

Thanks for the input! After long discussion with someone who has spent much time in Spain, she convinced me that we should focus on Seville, Granada and Madrid for this trip. Barcelona will have to wait for another day. Totally understand the weather situation in Seville and surrounding area but don't know when we'll be back to Spain and have to be there already, seems silly not to see what there is to offer because of heat. We went to both Cuba and Rome in July, temps 90s-100 the whole time, very little a/c. While we were miserably hot at times, not so much that we didn't enjoy ourselves. We also toured Scotland in late November and I can confidently say I preferred being miserably hot to being miserably cold and damp ;)

We skipped Barcelona on our first trip to Spain. We visited Madrid, Seville and Granada on that trip. We visited Barcelona on our next trip to Spain, a few years later.
