Planning a trip to Seville in April for my birthday. Looking for affordable lodging

Hi All,

I currently live in Italy and am planning a solo trip to Seville in April for my birthday. I'm looking for safe and affordable lodging. I've check booking.com, and was surprised by the rates hostels are charging.

I am also planning a day trip (or perhaps a couple of nights) in Cordoba.

Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions!

What dates are you looking at? The 14th thru the 20th is the Sevilla Feria, pretty popular so prices go up considerably. The rest of the month, except maybe around Easter, should be typical prices.

It would have been fun to be in Seville during the Sevilla Feria. My birthday is during that period. The most I could pay would be around $50 a night - less, if possible, as I'd like to stay for a week, plus, a day or two in Cordoba, if possible. What are the typical rates? I'd ideally like to stay someplace close to the center, as I'm in and out quite a bit.

I typically use Booking.com , but usually looking for a double in a hotel or apartment, but Booking.com does list a number of hostels for Seville. Most are beds in dorms, but the Hostel Urban Sevilla does offer a single room in your price range (though it does have a shared bathroom). I saw another half dozen hostels in your price range, so maybe look there. That was during the Feria.

The week after Feria, the places available in your price range number a couple dozen, and you could get an apartment for $50 a night. That same hostel I mention above, the price drops from ~$50/night to closer to $30/night.

Hi Paul,

Thank you! I was on Booking, but when I put the dates in for April, the prices that were originally advertised were no longer available. Thanks so much for your message and research! I'll take another look!

Something to be careful about is the cancellation policy for Seville lodgings. I suspect the Feria period may be like Holy Week, when I had to accept a 2-week cancellation policy in order to get a reservation. It worked out fine, but it made me nervous to be locked in that early at the Holy Week prices.

Hi Acraven,

Yes, I feel similarly. I was ready to book a room, but non-refundable / no option to cancel. I haven't booked my flight yet - I thought it best to look into lodging first. So - am still in search mode.
