paying in advance for a private tour?

I have made a reservation for a private tour from Barcelona to the Dali Museum & Girona. They only require paying for the museum tickets in advance to secure the reservation but offer the option to pay in full at the official currency exchange rate. If I don't pay in full in advance, I can pay cash in Euros during the tour. Which is the better option? They have a 48-hour cancellation policy and seem to be a reputable tour company.

Thanks!

Are you worried mostly that there's a chance you have to cancel? Or costs?

Do you have a credit card that offers a "no foreign transaction" fee? If not, you should have one for international travel. If you pay with cash, you're still paying a fee to get the cash in the US to take with you, or likely a fee of some sort to get it out of an ATM when in Spain. This isn't a big purchase transaction anyway, but in general your credit card offers you protections that cash doesn't. (Though the credit card company will not be helpful if you try to cancel after the 48 hour policy.) They would be helpful if you paid up front and it wasn't legit or something of that nature.

I would much rather pay in advance with my credit card instead of paying in cash with Euros on the day of the tour. Since my credit card charges become airline miles, I like to have my trip expenses help pay for our next vacation.
