Paseo del Arte pass

Hola Todos,
We will have 4 days in Madrid and on each of three of those days we plan to visit one of the three museums included in the Paseo del arte pass. I have carefully read the entry fee schedules for the Prado, Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen. To keep it simple, I will only discuss general admission and reduced admission (over 65 and students).
Prado general = 14 Euro reduced = 7 euro, the sofia general = 8 euro, reduced = free, Thyssen general = 10, reduced = 7

Since my husband is over 65 it would seem that it is worth it just to pre buy the reduced tickets. However, he has to stand in the regular line at each museum to show his proof that he is over 65. (so much for pre-booking)

Purchasing the Arte Pass appears to be much more expensive and we still have to stand in line at each museum as there is no fast pass privilege (from what I can gather) I am hoping that one of you will tell me differently. (please)

As to price, I did notice that the art pass includes not only the general admission at each museum but also a special exhibit so that could be a good reason to go ahead and buy it. what do you think?
In general, however, it seems that if a person wants a specific entry time and wants quick entry without waiting in the long lines, it might be best to skip the Arte Pass. Do you all agree?
Final Question: Is it true, that if you buy the Art Pass, you do not try to book specific times on line. You just show up and get in line and you get in?
Gracias,
Sherri

If I qualified for such a discount, I'd probably just wait at each museum and save the money. The lines are really only long at the Prado. I've never had issues with long waits at the other two.

The Art Pass allows for quick entry but at the Prado you still must stand in line for security, which is airport-style and pretty intense.
