Paradors-How to Register

Hi All,
Planning a trip to Spain, want to book a Parador (have stayed in these before). They now require an online account and registration. Does anyone know how to do this? I have attempted to create a registration with all my data several times, but:
-document is required, but the drop-down only allows a "nit" (tax id) or another term, I'm not familiar with. s
(passport selection is greyed out)
-have created a pw many times, followed all the pw rules, but it won't populate.

Appears the one I want does have vacancy for my dates.

Suggestions and intell very much appreciated!

Thank you for responding so quickly. I appreciate learning about the benefits of Parador registration. My questions above, however, are not about whether I want to register, rather I was asking how to complete the form the Parador organization requires:

---Passport cannot be entered (no drop down menu option/not enough digit space to enter all digits)
---PW field doesn't register: keeps blanking out, despite following all their pw rules.

I prefer becoming a member of the organization vs. booking online (which is more expensive).

If you can provide specific guidance on how to navigate their form, that would be very helpful.

You were correct at least this morning: when I entered 'United States' into the designated space, the "passport" drop-down populated. However, this was not the case last night!
Secondly, each time I completed the form w/accurate information, it got bounced back: the mobile phone was wrong (no it wasn't despite my making several format changes), the pw was wrong (despite closely entering the number as per instructions)...all suggestions welcome!
After many times this morning, I finally gave up. I wrote to them and rec'd a prompt reply requesting my basic data, which I just sent to them, we'll see if that works or not.
Ironically, a close friend applied for residency in Spain about 4 years ago...after hiring/meeting with a lawyer in Spain, carefully documenting his family history from Spain, making numerous in-person visits to the courts/beauracracy, and spending $$$$ jumping through hoops, there is always just 'one more thing' he has to fulfill. This time he is required to get a passport: another got-cha: in order to get the passport he must gain an 'appt' to do so, which only can be done online 60 days before (no in-person appearances at the pp office)--the catch is every time he attempts to book it even on the very day the appts should open, the appts are completely full for the 60-day prior requirement. It's a shame bc my friend is a successful financial services professional who would contribute to Spain's economy.

Well I am happy for you. I've attempted the form many many times. Constant error-messages. Definitely a bug in their coding.
Probably my security settings on my mac. But I'm not opening up to viruses, so the poor software form will work.

I want a log-in so I have some record of what I book & what I pay. Not willing to be a guest and then risk more miscommunication.

Are you kidding??? If their online form is such a mess, can you imagine how buggy the app is?

I had the same problem, I think. I had registered for an account with no problems but was unable to make a reservation, and the problem was the phone number. I changed my phone number to +07, and then the digits of my phone (1-xxx-xxx-xxxx no dashes or spaces), and that worked. +07 is the exit code for Spain phones, similar to our +011. I've never had to do this on any other European website or account, but it worked for Paradores. Hope it helps you.

I agree totally with the last person. Put +07 in front of your full USA mobile phone with USA country code 1. Example: +0712015551234 for USA area code 201-555-1234. Worked perfectly after multiple 'mobile phone wrong' error messages with no other explanation. Thanks folks!!
