Parador de Ronda vs outside city

We have three nights in the White Hills towns in May. First will be in Arcos de la Frontera. I have two choice for the next two. I have a reservation at the Parador in Ronda, but only room left was one of the triplex rooms. Expensive so trying to understand if those rooms are just larger and more expensive or if they can have good views as some of the superior rooms seem to.

The other reservation I've got is for two nights (minimum required) at the Hotel La Fuente de La Higuera, about 10 minutes outside of Ronda. Looks like lovely rooms, excellent food and service. Would be our only place outside of the cities. So chance to experience country house.

Does anyone have experience with either of these or input on the Parador "value" or Ronda vs. countryside.

Haven't stayed at either. In Ronda, we stayed at hotel San Gabriel which is a block or 2 on the other side of the "new" bridge from the Parador. It was very quaint and reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. I've had good experiences at the few paradores I've stayed at. Will be staying at a number of them on an upcoming trip. If you're over 55 you can get a discount at the paradores by becoming a parador friend. I feel that a parador isn't really much more expensive, if at all, than equivalent hotels in whichever city the parador is in. If you didn't make your parador reservation via the parador.es/en site, maybe they didn't release all the rooms and a less expensive one will still be available.

The Paradors in converted historic buildings offer some wonderful experiences, but you don't have to stay there to enjoy them. Dine on the terrace in Ronda taking in the spectacular view. Why choose when you can have both.

In Granada it's nice to have a drink in the Parador courtyard between your Generalife and Nazrid Palace visits.

We stayed at the Ronda parador 2 years ago. First of all, this building is a former town hall, but not to be confused with an historically old town hall. It is an upscale hotel that sits above the ravine/river. The views are stunning, but you don't really see down into the ravine since the hotel has to sit back a bit from the edge. The food was excellent. The rooms were nice, but I didn't feel they were a "wow" experience. One thing o be aware of is, those that face the ravine also face the pedestrian walkway that is in front of the hotel (which is actually the back of the hotel). We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view, but curtains needed to be closed for privacy. One of the best things about this hotel is that you are right in the middle of Ronda and the action. The excellent bullfighting museum is about a block away and there are lots of restaurants and activity all around you.

I hope this helps as you make your decision.
