I need to go to this event and was hoping someone could give me advice on which days to leave from L.A, what tours are worth going to, which areas are the best to stay, and any other advice that can help.
I understand this is sort of last minute, but I still plan on going. I have been putting this thing off for too long and it is going to happen come hell or high water.
I just want to my best and be as smart as possible.

How long do you have for the trip? Do you plan to see other cities? Planning for this July probably needs to start with plane tickets. Search for a "multi-city" itinerary if you want to fly into Pamplona and out from another city at the end of your stay. Next step might be booking a hotel room in Pamplona using an online search engine that reflects available dates. Rick's Spain book has a general-interest chapter on Pamplona, not geared specifically to the festival time. A bit of multi-media info can also be found at http://www.ricksteves.com/europe/spain/pamplona. I have not been and so won't recommend any more specific solutions. Once you start to secure key pieces, then rest usually follows, or at least you get more motivated to figure it out.
