I have a friend that is working in Palma, Mallorca. I might visit there. Does anyone have opinions or knowledge about Palma itself.
I am not interested in renting a car or vespa while there. Is Valencia the main flight hub for Mallorca? Any hotel recommendations for Palma? Things to do while there?

I haven't been to Mallorca yet, but I know there are ferries from Barcelona. My guess is that you have a lot of options for flights and aren't limited to Spanish cities. If you'll be flying in from the US or Canada, I'd use one of the flight-schedule platforms like Google Flights, select your origin airport and use Palma de Mallorca as your destination. See what pops up. If you'll want to see other parts of Spain as well, look for a multi-city flight into Palma and out of a suitable mainland city. From my origin airport Barcelona and Madrid are usually the cheapest options, but it may be different for you.

This site is a gem for all things Mallorca related and is well worth reading.
I've been visiting Mallorca every year for the last 18 years (going again in 5 days time) and still haven't experienced everything it has to offer.
Palma is my favourite Spanish city and there is plenty to see and do however it's easier to point you in the direction of the authors of the aforementioned website than for me to write out a list of the highlights.
