Has anyone had the opportunity to visit Palacio del virrney laserno in Jerez? We are planning a day in Jerez and want to combine visiting the Andalucian Horse School.
I was in Jerez in April for 3 days and I visited the horse school, but not the Palacio. I opted to visit the horses on a non-performance date, which I preferred, as you can get closer to the horses and the guide was very knowledgeable. You can go into the performance arena and watch them practicing their manoeuvres. If you go to the show, they are very strict about you not taking photos and you don’t have enough time to see behind the scenes in full.
We arrived at the horse school when it opened at 10am and we left the museum there about 1.30. They close at 2pm.
The issue we had in Jerez was that everything closes for c 4 hours for lunch, making it difficult to combine sightseeing the same day. You wouldn’t have time to see both the horse school and Palacio in the morning, so you would have to visit this in the evening, as the horse school isn’t open after 2pm. A visit to a bodega was one of my “must visit” places and I went to Lustau, which was excellent. The Alcazar was very interesting too.
Thank you for your reply, we scheduled for 10:15am for the Palacio and our visit for the andalucian horse show is at 12pm. Hopefully this will give us enough time, we are going on a Friday and the tour of stables and horses are not available except at 10am the museum.
Any thoughts for the museum?
