Paella in sevilla

We'd love a recommendation for a great seafood Paella in seville please. We are staying near the cathedral. Thanks!

I bet one can find decent Paella (and decent food of most kinds) in Sevilla, but just FYI I'm pretty sure Valencia is known as the home of Paella, not Sevilla.

Valencia is the home of paella, but Sevilla is one of the biggest rice growing provinces in Spain (and not far from the coast), so arroz con mariscos is hardly unknown.

Try Gago 6 near the catedral which is good (or was, establishments do change). Or there is a famous one called Paella Sevilla, though we've never eaten there.

Just avoid any restaurant in the centre showing pictures on plastic charts of a dozen different paella dishes available for one serving and eating straight away. It will likely be factory made, frozen/boil in the bag, re-heated yuck. Basically the equivalent of those Parisian "bistro" where one man in a small kitchen claims to be miraculously able to offer a thirty item lunch menu. Proper paella takes time to cook and is often made for two people minimum.

We had delicious and inexpensive paella at a stall in the Mercado de Triana. I don't remember its name, but it was on the perimeter of the market. Look for the stall with the big paella pans. The mercado is a very casual place, but definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

+1 for Gago 6. Ate there last April and it was delicious.

Only place we had paella in Sevilla was Barra Casas Robles on Calle Álvarez Quintero off Calle Alemanes about two blocks from the Cathedral and enjoyed it. They only make it for a minimum of two and they make a big pan of it - easily enough for three people. We ate big portions and they refreshed our plates with the remaining seafood be it was A LOT of paella. It takes a while - which they warn you about - but be cautious how many tapas you order while you wait.

Is Vegetarian Paella on the menus?

I've never seen a vegetarian paella on the menu at anywhere we've eaten in Spain. That's not to say that it doesn't exist but judging by the Spanish general approach to vegetarianism I suspect that such a thing would be very rare.

My husband I just returned from a month long vacation in Spain. We had a wonderful experience. We stayed at an AirBnB less than 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Had the most delicious Paella and Tapas at Bar Pelayo on Calle de Placentines 25. It's minutes from the Cathedral.
