I am planning to pick up a rental car from
Granada and visit Ronda and Caminito. I will be returning the car in Granada.
Is there a nice town anyone would recommend spending a night between Caminito Del Ray and Granada? Is there any pretty towns to stop by? I do not mind little detour to the coast.

There’s really no need to spend a night unless you want to since it’s only a 2-2.5 hours drive between Ronda and Granada. After the walk, Antequera might suit your needs.
Just my preference, but I avoid the entire Costa del Sol area. It’s tourist central lined with resorts. Going down to the coast will add to the driving time. Depending on the time of year you intend on being in Spain, it may not be beach weather.
