Can anyone tell me if there's a local bus that goes between Cadiz and Ronda that doesn't hug the coastal road? We'd like to do a loop in October: Ronda - Cadiz - Tarifa - Malaga, stopping for a night or two in each. We almost always rent a car, so we want to make sure we plan a public transit itinerary that will actually work! Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
It appears Comes serves that route, though I think not at all frequently. Check your intended travel date carefully. Ronda is a rather small place with limited transportation links.
Thank you, acraven. I'll check into that company, but it kind of confirms my suspicions that we might have to reconsider our itinerary and just go via the coast....or just take a chance!
You can take the train from Ronda to Algeciras, a well known very scenic ride then the bus from Algeciras to Cadiz.
Thanks, isn31c, but I was hoping we could find a way to do it inland, through the hill towns. We'll keep our options open for now, in any case.
I've just been messing about with Google maps. There is a company called Damas who run a pretty frequent local service between Cadiz, Jerez, Jedula and Arcos de la Frontera. From Arcos there only seems to be the General Comes service on to Ronda.
But the Damas service seems to give possibilities to meander as far as Arcos, then do the final leap on to Ronda,

Hi again, isn31c. I just read your suggestionmore carefully, and I'm definitely putting that idea into the hopper. Thau train ride does sound scenic.
