One night in Granada.

Im only one night in Granada, driving from Rhonda and the next day driving to Cordoba.
I really wanted to visit alhambra but all the tickets are sold out. I didn't expect that February could be so popular. 😀. What option do I have to be able to get into Alhambra? (Bugdet friendly options prefered)... im traveling February 18th to 19th. Thanks so much in advance.

At the entrance to the Alhambra, you may find tour guides that can also provide entry. And, there can be tickets reserved for walk-ups - ask at the window.

Thank you! I would assume i need to get there really early to be able to get a walk up ticket.

Anybody can visit the Alhambra complex at any time; it is free and always open. What you’re referring to is entering the Nasrid Palace. It is the part of the complex that requires a ticket as does the Generalife, but sometimes nobody is checking tickets at the gardens.

I was in Granada a couple of Februaries ago, and had to pay a ton for entry (about 125 euros) through GetYourGuide because I made the same assumption as the OP. There was no option to purchase tickets at the gate nor to "find a tour guide" near the entrance. Tickets for Alhambra access should always be purchased well in advance. And very little of the Alhambra complex is free to enter.

Hi there,

I would check the official website of the Alhambra continously, they will be releasing tickets, specially those that won’t be used by the school trips.

Please don’t go directly to the ticket office without your ticket, because the guides there will offer their services but they don’t sell tickets. Trust me, I work as a tour guide here and this would be a huge mistake.

If you want to go without ticket you will only be able to visit for free the Palace of Charles V (with the museums inside) and not much more. Bear in mind that there a few passport and ticket controls.

Good luck!

Thank you, Nono! Very helpful to get valuable insights from one whose boots are on the ground in Granada.

Thank you Nono so much for advice. Do you know at what time schools might be releasing the tickets. Should I keep checking the website in the morning, afternoon? Thanks so much again!

I am happy to help!

I am afraid they release these tickets randomly, without following any rule. For example, this afternoon they have released some tickets for Feb 18 and 19.

They sometimes release tickets in the evening (by 8 pm Spanish time) of the next day, but you have to be fast, since the local agencies know it and purchase them quickly.

Best,
