We have one day and one night to spend in Malaga. Would you stay in the city or outside? How would you spend the day?

I was in Malaga for three nights last December and enjoyed myself. When are you going and what are your interests? For me the highlight was the Picasso Museum. The Roman amphitheater was a pleasant surprise. We didn't visit the Alcazaba - at that point we had already seen the Alhambra and the Alcazar in Seville. The Cathedral was very nice as well and the Malaga city museum was a great surprise. They turned on the Christmas lights and it was quite the spectacle. I think Malaga is very underrated. The weather is beautiful, it is very tourist friendly and super easy to navigate.
We ate at El Meson de Cervantes for our anniversary. I think it cost us under $60 for halfway decent bottle of wine and a more tapas than we could eat.

Stay intown. We booked on booking.com a small guest house but there is a Marriott with a nice roof deck. The Malaga city wheel was a lot of fun. Nice cathedral and Picasso museum was okay. Fun just to explore streets.
