One day in Cordoba

I need some help in planning my activities for my single day in Cordoba. We arrive by train at 9:30am, taxi to hotel to drop off luggage (20 min ride) then walk (15 min) to Mezquita. I was thinking of buying tickets for Mezquita for 11:30am or 11am. I guess we can see the Roman bridge near the Mezquita. What other attractions? Jewish Quarter? Patios? Is the Alcazar worth it given we will be touring the one in Seville? I would appreciate any suggestions for lunch and dinner as well. We leave the next day for Granada.

The historic center of Córdoba is fairly small with all the popular sights within walking distance. I’ve been to the city a number of times and haven’t gone to its Alcázar. Recently some friends visited it and it was similar to the Alhambra and Sevilla’s Alcázar, but on a smaller scale.

If you have time for a 14-course meal in a Michelin-quality restaurant for under 50E, I highly recommend Terre Olea.
Small plates that are intriguing and satisfying. There also is an 18-course menu for under 60E. I don't think you'll find anything better in Cordoba.

Thanks for the restaurant tip Larry. Definitely going to make a reservation for our visit there in October. We ate at a one star restaurant in Croatia with a 11 course tasting menu and it was €168 pp. this is much less expensive

The Juderia is one of the best-preserved medieval quarters in Spain. Casa de Sefarad is very good, detailing the history of the Jews and giving some insights into daily life. At the Mezquita, take time to walk around the outside to see the intricate decoration, especially the doors. For patios, visit the Palacio de Viana. Skip the indoor tour, but enjoy the 7 patio gardens. I was disappointed by the Alcazar. The big attraction is the gardens, and I went in February when everything was pruned back. Sevilla's Alcazar is much much better.

We enjoyed the Alacazar in Cordoba for its beautiful gardens. We were there in September and everything was in bloom, plus there are pools and fountains. I am glad we saw it. But we were there for 2 nights and had more time. The Alcazar in Seville is definitely more impressive.

We also enjoyed Palacio de Viana for its patios. I think there are 12 of them. But the Palacio is further out. We had to take a taxi to get there and back. So what you choose to see really depends on how much time you have and how much you can fit in in one day.

For dinner, we loved our meal at Regadera located at Ronda de Isada on the river bank. One of the best meals of our trip. We made reservations about a week before. After dinner, we walked across the Roman Bridge. So beautiful at night when it's illuminated.

Thanks to all who gave suggestions. I have learned from you and will put most of these places, if not all, on my must see list. Also thanks you for restaurant info.
