One afternoon/evening Madrid ... tapas & wine tour?

I will be in Madrid for 1 evening/afternoon on 12 March and am looking for a tapas/wine tour.

As I will be running solo on my own and will not be feeling confident to walk about solo in the evening I'd love to get a recommendation for an evening tapas/wine tour before I head to the airport.

Thanks for any tips you have to share.

Please don't snark on the "solo" aspect. It's been awhile that I've traveled solo and I know I'd enjoy myself a little more in this case with a smallish group.

Can’t help with the tapas/wine tour, but I’m glad the solo part hasn’t prevented you from traveling. Madrid’s a great city.

Edited: expanding on Renee’s response, the Mercado San Miguel is across the street from the Plaza Mayor and very popular for tapas. It’s always busy.

In Madrid we contemplated taking a tapas tour but instead decided to spend the evening at Mercado de San Miguel. We had done the RS self guided tapas walk in Salamanca so we decided to save the money. We had a great evening at the market but I regret being "thrifty" and not taking the tour. Secret Food Tours was the one I was looking into.

If a food tour does not work with your plan then go to the market. It is a beautiful spot not far from Plaza Mayor.

My colleague spoke highly of his recent experience with http://madridivine.com, but note that the guide is offering private tours, not a group that you can join.

My friends and I really enjoyed our food tour with "Devour Tours" in September. I'm considering going back to Madrid in a few months and will probably take another tour with them. They have several different tours to choose from.
