I have been trying to find this mythical "official site" for two days and all I get are sites offering me expensive tours. Does anyone have any advice????

This is the 'official website' for Alhambra

as do most other sites, they link to a Ticketmaster site that sells the tickets. They are not inexpensive.....and the site is in Spanish....

The English official ticketmaster site.

Select the ticket (package) you want, and click the button. You will be redirected. If the site comes up in other than English, click the "English" text at the top right. from there you'll select your visit date, etc.

Do book your Alhambra tickets 3 months in advance for best time options.
