I am trying to book train tickets from Granada to Barcelona for 10/3. There is only 1 departure I can find and it doesn't arrive in Barcelona until 11PM. If I look back to September 30, there are plenty of departures. Do I need to give it more time or give up and fly or rearrange my itinerary? Do they drastically cut the number of trains out of Granada in October? Am I missing something?1

We flew from Granada to Barcelona on Vueling.
Spain is larger than most people realize, and it was a one hour flight. Just a little longer than I'd want to spend on a train when the plane ride is so inexpensive.

It's possible they haven't loaded all the trains yet, but I've noticed on the past that Renfe isn't good about finding routings requiring connections. You probably will need to change trains on Madrid.
Try searchimg separately for Granada-Madrid and Madrid-Barcelona.
