Noooooooooooooooooooo

I finally was at peace three days ago with the options I had picked for my extra pre-tour days in Barcelona as a part of the Best of Spain Tour. As in.......Montserrat/No Montserrat.....Picasso/No Picasso.....Montjuic/No Montjuic.....Sardana/No Sardana.......Tapas/No Tapas (just kidding here). I posted several times on here (and I will continue to do so as I continue to tighten down my itinerary) for more Information. Everyone has been MOST helpful. I did realize that four extra days is not going to get it ALL done. Cool.

Then..........BAM! I see a post about this festival in Girona in May and this other city called Besalu. As I continued to read.....I continued to read. Oooops......we have a "problem Houston". I still have the same amount of days and money for my trip.....but Girona and Besalu are now craving my travel time and euros.

Soooooooo......my travel "peace of mind" and my priority list is shattered....once again. Ha Ha!

AND..... that is the GREATNESS of this Travel Forum and people who share their information. It is such a great resource. Thanks for all of the postings.

After I take a couple of Xanax I will be back to my sticky note planning grid with Besalu and GIrona awaiting their time slot. Sigh.

Aren't we lucky to have this kind of problem?

Happy planning!

Yes, there are millions and millions and millions of people who would quickly trade problems with you.

Travel is a buffet, and one has to "pick and choose."

Have a fun and safe trip!!

John, don't provoke... I can reaaaally make life miserable for you. Wait and see, when you post your "final itinerary" I can easily (very easily!) innocently slip a few other enticing suggestions for things to do/see here in Catalonia and turn your head upside down all over again.

... did I mention the Festival d'Havaneres de Calella de Palafrugell celebrated in June too? or the Festa de Moros i Cristians in Lleida at the beginning of May? or the Patum in Berga at the end of May? or the recreation of the Napoleonic siege of 1809 in Girona in September? or the Fira d'Indians in Begur in early September, which celebrates the strong historical links between Catalonia and Cuba during the 1800s? or the TarracoViva, also in May, to pay homage to the glorious past of the capital of the most western province of the Roman Empire: Tarraco (these days, Tarragona)? or the many Festa Major -centrepiece of Catalan heritage- celebrated in most towns and cities across Catalonia -in different months? ... this just to name a few!

Hey, and I am not mentioning events happening in Barcelona... then I'd be too long to list!

LOL!

Well, most of the above are not "off-the-beaten-path", we've been celebrating them for decades, and some of them for centuries, it just so happen they're not well known outside Catalonia (thankfully, LOL!).

There are Museum Day opportunities in Madrid on May 18th as well; perhaps you are not fully occupied with tour activities that day? The Prado was not particularly crowded on Museum Day 2015.

The linked website also alludes to some special activities on Museum Night, which is described as "the Saturday immediately before or after", which would appear to be May 19.

If my calendar skills are correct......we will have that evening (the 18th) free after a day trip to Segovia. Not sure how late they will be open on a "free" day.

Hey Enric.....looks like you posted some more Catalonia festivals. Opa! Sadly.....none of them fall within my time frame.....10 May to 16 May. I am leaning towards getting to Girona to check out their Flower Festival on that first Sunday. Always of a fan of the an authentic local festival for the locals.
