I’m currently in Spain, some credit card machines ask “do you want to pay in euros or dollars”, but the answer choice is “yes” or “no”. I know to pay in euros, my problem is the grammatically incorrect question/answer. They should either ask “pay in euros” or the answer options should be “euros” or “dollars”. It’s ambiguous to ask “A or B” and answer yes/no.
Ask the vendor which answer produces a transaction in euros?
That's worse than the screens I saw in Polish back in 2018!
Just returned from Spain and used cards a lot: yes, it’s confusing. Usually I saw that the first screen asked “Do you want to pay in euros or dollars”, then below and easily missed was an almost unseen question, “do you want to pay in dollars” and then below was the large yes/no. I found usually the answers were “no” for the first screen (not dollars), then a second screen asked for confirmation of payment in Euros.
