Is it necessary to buy tickets in advance for the Nerja Caves visit in early October or those are generally available on the spot upon arrival to the caves? Thank you.

We just turned up and bought on the spot. That was during the Easter school holidays which is a fairly busy period for the area so early October should be no problem.

We were there in 2017 in October and no problem to just purchase tickets there.
If you’re coming from downtown Nerja, there’s easy transportation- one of those little tourist trains that we generally avoid is the quick transportation. It stops downtown and then goes directly to the caves.
I see you said “early October “. Hopefully your dates work that you’re there during their fun Nerja Féria!
Also, don’t miss the charming town of Frigiliana. It’s just a very quick bus ride up to explore and have lunch.
Burriana Beach is the nicest Nerja beach by far. Enjoy your time!

Hi there, yes you can just turn up and by tickets at the entrance for the Nerja Caves. It's a great day out. Make sure you go in suitable footwear as it can be a bit slippy at times.
