Need your suggestions for best places to visit in and around Barcelona

Hi All,
I will be in Barcelona for 5 nights and 4 full days with my wife. This will be my first time in the European continent. I need your suggestions for the best places for us to visit during the stay. We are mostly there for a relax trip. Would like to see ancient architecture, scenic places and do things unique to the place.
I can also take train to nearby places.

Can you also provide ideal place to stay at along with your destinations. And also how should I move around: public commute, rental car etc.

The book and the web pages will answer general questions like yours. Everyone is different, so everyone will have different "must sees."

If you have more specific questions, come back and write a new post. "What should I see in Barcelona?" is hard to answer. "Which was your favorite Antoni Gaudi sight and why?" will get more useful responses.
