Nasrid Palace entry

I have purchased tickets in advance to visit the palace. I realize the importance of being punctual for the entry but I have also heard about being there an hour in advance. Anyone with recent first hand knowledge?

No need for an hour in advance. Arrive a few minutes before your entry. In my experience, there may be a queue of people with the same entry time. I think I was there about 15 minutes early, joined the small queue, and we were allowed to enter a few minutes before our stated time. March 2024.

You can visit other areas of the Alhambra, even ticketed areas, before your Nasrid Palace entry time. The time on the ticket is only for the Palace. If you are there an hour in advance, you can explore elsewhere.

The last time we visited people started lining up about 30 minutes before the entry time. There’s really no need to line up since you can enter at any time during the designated timeframe.

It’s a good idea to arrive a little early. It’s a huge complex and it may take a few minutes to find the correct entrance. Make sure everyone has their passport with as it is checked at multiple entrances. We spent close to 5 hours there and also toured the Generlife gardens. It was beautiful.
