Myway European Tour to Spain

Has anyone been on this trip who are 70 years? We are very physically active still hiking and biking and would like to hear back from people who have been on this tour
Thank you

We took this tour in May. I’m 71 and my husband is 79. We loved it and wish there were more My Way tours. It was our 9th Rick Steves tour, so we are very familiar with the two different formats. It does take more research to arrange the different activities you’re interested in, but you have a tour advisor with you that is an expert and helps with questions every day. I will say, that at 79 my husband gets worn out by standing around for extended periods of time listening to guides, so setting our own schedule works well for us. We added a week in Barcelona before the tour, so we had booked La Sagrada Familia, a Spanish Civil War tour, Casa Batllo, and Palace of Catalan Music on our own. We booked our Alhambra tickets as soon as they came available and missed the Seville Cathedral because we waited too long.

Some people question why you would take this tour if you can already arrange your own plans. Our response is, we enjoy not having to be responsible for everything (how are we getting from point A to B, are hotel reviews accurate). This was our second My Way tour and both groups have been very congenial, so it’s been fun to share adventures. By the time we got to Seville we were gathering on the roof top at the end of the day. Our tour advisor also made sure we knew which ATM had the best rate, how to navigate a pharmacy for necessary medication, took someone to the hospital, located the taxi that had a tourmates backpack with their cash, cards and passports, things that would be so stressful if you were doing a trip on your own. We had several hikers on this tour.

We did 2 back-to-back tours and noticed a difference health-wise. The people on the MyWay tour that had colds kept their germs to themselves because we weren’t together constantly and no one else was infected. On our subsequent tour, someone brought a cold and infected at least one other member.

I’m happy to answer any other questions and at some point will post my trip report.

Thank you so much for your response to my tour question. After reading your response we have decided to sign up for the tour in Spain. I don't mind planning but like you having the hotel arrangements is what we are looking for which it sounds like the tour does. We all so like the fact you done have every m eal planned for you.
We are looking at the Oct 2, 2025 trip.

At the end of the My Way tour you are in Seville, did you travel home by way of Madrid and did you fly out of Seville or take train? Any tips ?

You might want to start your own thread asking for opinions. We were heading to the RS Basque tour, so we flew out of Seville with a connection in Madrid. We were going to end up with 2 taxis and train connection before we arrived at our destination, so we were trying to mitigate the brain drain. In another scenario we would have taken a train to Madrid and spent a few extra days before flying home.
