Museums in Malaga

Hi I will be in Malaga from Oct 1 to Oct 5. I have heard about the Russian museum, and would like any input from anyone who has visited the museums in Malaga. Thank you!

I've not been to the Russian museum. But if you're asking about museums generally then I've visited the Picasso museum (different to the separate Picasso birthplace foundation also in Malaga), and whilst I'm not a great art lover and know little about it, I thought it was interesting for an hour or two. The old rebuilt palace it's in is well worth seeing too and there are ancient ruins in the cellar once you've had your fill of the paintings. If you do like art then I suspect it is a must see; although apparently not as good as the one in Paris, it's better/bigger than the one in Barcelona I believe.

My favourite museum in Malaga is the car (& frocks) museum, a little outside the centre. Of course, if you're not interested in cars then you'll be bored silly. But if cars do interest you then it's a brilliant place for a morning. They have some really old cars, going up to more recent and concept vehicles. A lot are European of course (including rare Hispano-Suiza), but there are British and American marques too.

Not perhaps a museum as such, but make sure you visit the Alcazaba which is fantastic (if small), even if you've already seen the Alcazar in Sevilla and the Alhambra in Granada.

Sorry for the lengthy response.

Hello!

I went to the Picasso, Pompideau (sic), Carmen Thyssen, and Contemporary Art museums in Malaga about 18 months ago. All were very worthwhile. The Cathedral is also well worth a visit. I took a daytrip - about 45 minutes each way by bus - to Marbella also and really enjoyed myself.
