Multiple Renfe Tickets?

I have registered each of our four family members on the Renfe website in anticipation of purchasing tickets. When I do a trial run while signed in under my account and ask for four tickets, it appears that there is no way to easily transfer the other three family members info to the ticket purchase. Do I have to buy four separate tickets? If so, how would they seat us together?

Thank you!

Normally, only one person's name is used on a group booking for train tickets, so I would not expect that you have to register everyone. You should book all four in one step in order to be seated together and the number of travelers is one of the first questions. There are more Renfe tips on TripAdvisor. When you buy tickets in a train station, they don't use names at all.

Thanks for your replies! I have previously read all the advice sites on renfe but this question is not addressed on any.

From what I recall reading, the computer will seat you together; at least it did for us. We were purchasing deep-discount Promo fares three months in advance. Those fares do not allow you to choose seats, but I read that the system will choose adjacent seats for you automatically. And it did. I have a post under the Transportation section regarding purchasing directly on the RENFE website.

Although the website asks for names they were not required.

You are not buying airline tickets where everyone needs matching names. With train tickets one person buys all the tickets for all under one name and one credit card. In Germany and Italy you need to present the credit card with the tickets but don't know if that is true for Spain. Probably be a good idea to have that credit card with you.
