When I arrived at Bilbao airport, I discovered there was a bus strike and it took me a couple of hours to get from the airport to the Renfre at the Intermodal and then on to Mozart Plaza. I cannot afford that type of unpredictable delay back the other way because I don't want to miss a flight. I tried to schedule an Uber for Thursday morning at 9am and Uber said it is not available in this location - even though it looks like if I tried to go right now, there are rides available. Maybe scheduling doesn't work so well here? Or is there a more reliable way to guarantee I have transportation to the airport from Mozart Plaza 5 days from now at 9AM?
Book a taxi. We have just spent 60 days in Spain and found taxis to be inexpensive and reliable. One of our Airbnb hosts said the Uber isn't commonly used and to always take a taxi.
Uber is not a big thing in many cities in Spain and taxis offer a great service (clean, efficient, cheap). https://www.taxibilbao.com/reserva-regular to book a taxi ahead. All taxis are metered and run under municipal license, with the same prices.
Well, how delightful! I made a reservation online with radiotaxi and within minutes a real person asked for clarification on directions to confirm the pickup. Awesome! They don't even have an app. It's all done with real people. How delightful!
