Mount Tibidabo (Barcelona) Advice Sought

Though it is not in Rick’s Spain book, the views and amazing church on Mount Tibidabo outside Barcelona look amazing. I will be there in early April (Semana Santa).

Any advice? Times to visit? Photography?

Thanks guys!

I used to go there growing up, Tibidabo is mainly known for the amusement park at the top, the oldest in Spain. I don't think it is too well known to foreigners. I recall one takes the funicular up to the top of the mountain, there is a metro stop nearby to the funicular base. Never went to the church, I guess as a kid that was "boring stuff" compared to the amusement park. There is a huge ferris wheel that gives you the best views of the city, if you are not too scared of heights.

If looking for other good photography spots in the city I can recommend Montjuïc Castle, parque del Laberinto de Horta, and the bunkers de Carmel.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Carlos. I'm heading there the beginning of October and will research these. We are mainly headed up to the Pyrenes (for hiking) but plan to spend some time in Barcelona (our first trip to the area)
