Morocco to Spain and Portugal?

After an organized fifteen day tour in Morocco, I would like to visit Granada and Seville, and go to the Algarve, Lisbon and maybe Duoro valley. What do you recommend for transportation connections from Morocco and in Spain and Portugal. Willing to drive rental in Portugal, but costs too much to rent in Spain and drop off in Portugal.

As you're learning, connections between Spain and Portugal are complicated. From Morocco to either one, I'd fly. There are buses between Seville and the Algarve. and then from Algarve to Lisbon and Lisbon to the Douro there are buses and trains.

Rome2Rio is a good site to get started with connections: http://www.rome2rio.com/

For flights, use Skyscanner: http://www.skyscanner.com/

For traveling from Seville to the Algarve and then on to Lisbon, you can reverse the directions found on The Man In Seat 61's website: http://www.seat61.com/international-trains/trains-from-Lisbon.htm#Lisbon_to_Seville

For trains in Portugal, you can use Portuguese Rail http://www.cp.pt (click the red and blue pattern at the top near the center to change from Portuguese to English). Or you can look at schedules (but not prices) on German Rail, following the link in Rick's tutorial: http://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/online-schedules

Ferry to Tarifa. Either pick up a rental in Tarifa or look in Algeciras (not far away toward Gibraltar). Drive Granada (possible stops in Gibraltar, Ronda and/or Antequera). Turn in the car when you get to Granada, train to Seville. From Seville, I think you're best off catching a bus to Portugal from Seville. There isn't a good train service and cross-border drop offs are too expensive. Depending on your plans for Portugal, you may want to pick up another car to use there.
